Beard Team USA's friend David Sacks lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, April 13. David photographed many of the contestants at the 2011 National Championships in Lancaster and also at the 2012 Nationals in Las Vegas. Several of his photos are featured on this site. He is survived by his wife Angie and his four children, Noah, Eva, Skyler, and Josephine. He was 44 years old.

David recognized the art of bearding and captured it through the art of photography.
Look for the publication in the coming months of "The Art of the Beard," a book that will feature David's photographs of many members of Beard Team USA and other beardsmen. The book will be a tribute to the life of this extraordinary beardsman and artist.
